History A Brief History of the Chamblissburg Baptist Church On November 4, 1962, a group of sixty-seven men, women, and young people met to organize an Independent Baptist Church, and we have remained the same since our beginning. We are a local assembly attempting to reach our community for the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible is our guidebook, and it gives us the answers to the many problems of life. The group first met in the Stewartsville High School and then in the home of Mr. & Mrs. Merrell Holdren. A church building was begun on November 15, 1962 and was completed on June 2, 1963. The top floor of this building is now our Fellowship Hall. The new auditorium was built in 1968. The first services were held in the new building in 1969. Pastors of the church: Rev.
